Dither Suggestions for Calvus?

I have 3 small Black Calvus in a 30 gallon aquarium (36” x 18”). I currently have Multis in the other half of the tank, but will likely be selling them to the LFS soon and would like to keep just the Calvus with some dithers to help them feel more comfortable with coming out of hiding. Any suggestions?

Assuming that you are going to upgrade these in the future, perhaps some African Barbs? Or Congo tetras (even though those would be better in a larger tank).

Thank you both for the suggestions. I think a 30 gallon is a little too small for these, so looking for something that requires less space.

Sorry I missed that part. Neolamprologus caudopunctatus are very nice

I know they are not biotype correct, but I use guppies for dithers and the calvus do a graet job of keeping the population steady.

Cyprichromis would be bio correct but they need a 6ft tank. The guppy idea is good. I would even recommend you increase the tank size and keep the shell dwellers.

I am liking the guppy idea too. It’s funny because I actually had them together in a 75 gallon, and then separated them into 2 smaller species only tanks. They’re only back together now because I needed space for Sajica cichlid fry.
