hi, i am thinking of getting some dithers giant dianos and congo tetra and was wondering if they will form two different shoals or would just end up in 1 big swarm, they will be in a 150 gall tank and i was tinking of 7 of each, thanks for your time to read this and hopfully share some of your knowledge!

yeah depends on the those types, sometimes schooling fish will form two separate species specific groups while others arent picky and will form one big group when i had serpaes and bleeding heart tetras they formed one big group, if i were you i would go ahead and make it an even 10 of each... (but im weird with numbers like that haha but i think they would also appreciate the extra members)

you think it would make a differeance if i had 10 rather than 7.... i was thinking of these 2 types of fish but if there are others that are large enough and a bit different i would like to hear from you.... i will have 3 sevs, 2 ebjd and 2 golden nugget plecs in a 150 gall tank

well with schooling fish, more is always better but i doubt it would really make that big of a difference, like i said im just weird with numbers like that and it would bother me to have only 7 lmao

I have 8 giant danio in my 125 with my big cichlids and they look super cool. They are fast enough too that they can usually keep their distance from getting too pounded on. I'm sure if you have cichlids though once they get big enough you may notice a danio disapeer from time to time. Good luck!

Long long ago I had a Discus tank with Congo tetras, roseline sharks and rummynose tetras. They each stayed in their respective shoals, it was really cool.
