Filament barbs are better dithers. I've used them for years and highly recommend. They're faster and a little thicker than Roseline sharks. Roselines make very expensive feeders IME.
maybe try tin foil barbs. they get to decent size and school together. you can gat albino's as well but they're a bit more expensive

Seriously go with them. How big are they? Once they reach 4.5-5" they will make awesome dithers with your big cichlids. They're quick and they'll school so get at least a 3 or 5.
i used some firemouths as dithers, but it was at a bad stage. also i use these red tailed sand loaches as dithers too they so friggin quick and they clean the floor

Kind of slow. If they're 3", they might be alright to add now.
They weren't that much bigger than the buenos aires...Maybe I'll just sell some fish and get an arowanna

If you could grow them out just a little more, they would be totally worth it. Filament barbs are the best dither for CA/SA tanks imo.
sorry to just take your post like this L.belcherII, but since we are on the subject of filamentosa barbs I was wondering at what size can you see the physical diffrence from male and female?
