Tinfoils would work as dithers but they do get big. Bala sharks or silver dollars don't get quite as big. Giant danios might be a little small.

Tinfoil barbs, silver dollars or Red hooks would be good dithers.

depending on the size of the jds and the tank tin foils might be the best but jds are strong fish and might make short work of them if the tank is big enough try a feamale cons or i've seen people use snakeskin gourami
