Those Hinges on the top hold it up. Holds it well too...... no slipping. Also, the stand is stained....just not the usual stain. I used a white pickling and then put two coats of poly on it. Smells real nice!!!!

well it look as though u already have a discus tank by the look of ur avatar... so i would say either a african community tank, or what would be cool is a community of dwarf cichlids, you could prorbaly fit about 15_20 in that tnak, plus tetras, and corie cats for the bottom... and deff plant it out with alot of bouldes and caves for hiding... it'd be sick and there would be alot of action with fish

Filled it up last night........ anyone know if ARENA sand or silica and is safe? Looks great in the tank though..... will load pictures soon.
i know for a fact silica sand is safe, also looks better then play sand. just rinse it really well
