DIY 160 Gallon Aquarium Build

So I am in the process of selling my 90 gallon tank. After doing this I will be moving to somewhere with a finished basement.... which means it is time for an upgrade. I have been scouring the web to try to find a tank with the dimensions I want and have had no luck. Buying brand new is just stupid expensive, so I was thinking why not a DIY Plywood build? I have read that it is stupid to do one under 200 gallons but I really want a 60x28x22 tank. And the easiest most cost efficient way to do this may be a DIY'er... Is it worth it? And what would the glass prices run me if I were to get just a front panel? Where is the best place to find glass?
 
Not worth it at all lol sorry...easy to find 210's,180's, even 300's for $500 or less. Ive bough 200 acrylics for $200. Ur proposed dimensions are very small so u may as well get something larger for cheaper imo.

I have searched Maine Craigslist, stores, and other classifies for about 2 months... Everybody wants soooo much money for their setup It's not worth it. And all tanks are 18" deep that i do find. Then when I go to LFS's they quote me for just a new tank for $600 and that's a 120 gallon with no stand... So how can't a DIY be worth it? Your not going to find my dimensions anywhere and certainly not gonna find a good deal around here

Ur dimensions are pretty meager lol...no offense. And will end up costing you the same or more than a 8x2x2 or 4x8x2. Just saying its not really worth building tanks under 300 gal. Keep standard dimensions of materials in mind so there is less waste and you end up with a larger tank. I have built many tanks, bought dozens of used/broken and currently have 28 tanks running with every footprint ever made and then some, so the advice im giving you is pretty accurate. Not trying to offend but only help. Tanks are out there just be patient and u will find them for cheap or very reasonable prices.

Search the Boston craig's list and make a road trip. You'll have better luck finding a deal in major metro city.
 
see if there is a frecycle group in your area.
I have gotten 2 20 gallon tanks, a 55 gal bowfront and my newest is a 165 with everything but stand for free on local s florida freecycle sites.be patient and check cl often
