Question: Is it necessary to place a bottom 3/4 plywood board on bottom of stand? Or is placing one on the inner bottom where my filters sit on be strong enough?

I think i responded to this by mail, but you don't need a plywood bottom on it for structural support, it's more of a issue if you want one on the inside for filters to sit on. Looks good so far and keep it up :)

Here's some pictures with the bottom plywood on. I will be putting the inside piece where the filters sit on and skin with with 1/4 oak wood.

I hope to be done by this weekend.

question:

so my tank finally arrived and leveled perfectly when placed on the stand. However, there's a slight gap in the center portion front and back the size of credit card. But it does sit perfectly on all four corners and also left and right side.

Will this be a problem once i fill the tank up? what can i do to fix this?

Thanks,

Not quite sure as to why you added the plywood to the very bottom of the stand, that was unnecessary and just added more money to the final cost of the stand.

As to needing to do anything about the credit card thickness in difference, dont touch it. It will be fine.
Are you going to set the tank on a piece of insulation board of any kind?

i placed another plywood on the bottom just for additional height.

The gap stretches out about 1.5 feet withe the biggest gap being about 2 credit cards put together. The tank sits pretty well on the stand except for that 1.5 feet gap.

i was told i should buy sheet of 1/2" styra foam to place in between the tank and stand and it should fill the voided gaps i have. is there any other insulation type products i can use?

i pretty much stained the frame as you see. i cut out the pieces for the exterior but have not mounted it on. I've been lagging for the past weeks. LOL
