ok here's what i did. i said to hell with these cheap plastic regulators! apparently they regulate the pressure by leaking out all the excess LOL. so, i bought a cheap water pressure guage at Lowe's to test my water pressure (i returned it after ). these go on the end of your garden hose
my pressure was reading about 65psi. i then bought some pressure-compensating drip emitters. basically, a PC emitter will maintain the stated flow as long as psi is within a specified range. i bought some 2gph PC emitters that are rated between 10-60psi. hooked it up and maintained the drip flow no problems. i even tried a 1gph emitter and it worked as well.
so i will just be running a straight line from the tap and not even worry about the pressure. here's what ive done so far...
a tip-
your water pressure can spike/surge at times, if your not going to use a regulator then just barely crack open the valve going to the emitters. i had am emmiter blow off and flood my garage, use tiny zip ties on them!
