At my house...
Hi guys, i'm planning on building a 36"x24"x20" - 75 gallon saltwater tank. can anybody help me get started? Im thinking of using plywood for the back, left, right, and bottom panels and have an acrylic panel for the front. Can anybody help me get in the right direction?

thanks!!!

and also how do i make the plywood saltwater-proof?

BUMP.... need help ASAP!!!!

For such a small tank it would just about be cheaper to find a used acrylic or glass tank. If you really like the idea of building a tank go for it but you wont save much/any money. GARF has a good article of plywood tank construction on their website, good luck.

BTW, whats GARF?

Hope that helps some, I thought about building a small tank but decided it wasn't worth the money. The experience probably makes up for it though. Also search the DIY threads on here, lots of people make plywood takes several different ways. Good luck with your build and keep us updated with pics.

do you have do treat the plywood with something or is the plywood already saltwater-proof?

The plywood does not come in contact with the water.

Look at all the other DIY threads.
