DIY 450G Glass Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my tank is 12mm 10x2.5x2.5ft no problem. its a diy

If I use 12mm then my cost will reduce drastically.... The reason I have 15mm is, I have plans on keeping rays and at least a width of 3' will keep them happy...
Care to share build pics or plan? I might consider this footprint if the difference is huge.

Cheers

Cheers buddy.... Work on my pond has taken precedence over the tank ATM. Also the fish room progress is tad slow. Will update once we start with the stand build.

Nothing more to say go with 15mm so you could go up too 3ft! I regret my width so much my next tank would be 4ft wide! Hopefully tomorrow I would post some pics

Here some updates on my tank....
Due to some work space hindrance I had to reduce the tank size to 8x3x2.5'.... Which I'm not comfortable with but cannot do it any other way as the right side is my entrance to the meter room. So for any service thing they need the space.
I haven't calculated the volume yet. If at all I'm going to keep any aros in there they would be of the smaller species which suits the tank specs. The work on the stand will begin today as the door to the fish room is done :)

Will keep the updates flowing as on when it's coming along...

Cheers,

Made some progress with the stand. The frame is being worked on. Will see the whole skeleton done by evening.

Just checked upon the glass. So the bottom glass will be drilled and my supplier has suggested to go for a toughened bottom glass. Anybody here think I should go for plain float instead of toughened?
