im going to be making a 12'long 500 gallon L shapped tank in my basement and i plan on it costing me ~400-500 but thats because i have alot of the materials. i have all the fiberglass from my car project and two gallons of resin. all i really need to do is buy the studs wood pannaling plywood and ... well thats it. but i might go with sheetrock and drylock instead. i have all of the glass sitting on my floor in the forum of a 120gallon that im going to take apart and use the pannels out of, and that i got for $50...
But if my design was differant and i didnt have any materials here i could expect to pay somewhere around $2000(CDN) for a diy tank.
Prices varry wildly from Country to Country... like here acrylic is twice as cheap as glass, but in some places glass is twice as cheap as acrylic... also resin might be extreemly expensive where you dome from. one gallon of resin here is around $30-$50,
