Does anybody know how to make them? Has anybody done it? Pics?

I'm pretty good diy wise, yet for some reason, I don't seem to be able to get my head around making an air pump LOL.
Help? :)

You are most likely wasting your time. You are just building a Rube Goldberg.
Rube Goldberg?.. I appreciate that. However, I'm sure people have done it before so ill wait for more input

Just pump up an inner tube and release the air slowly. LOL! You can actually use this in an emergency if there is a power failure.

Be carefull with innertubes. They have a powder to keep from sticking together. I think it is talc but not positive.

If you want to make your own pump, don't waste your time there are alot of good pumps for reasonable prices. if you are talking about a central air system that is a different story and many of us have central air systems either with a large piston pump and lots of air lines (hard and soft), the best I have seen used an air blowers with pvc piping with air values drilled every 10 feet with silicon air line from there

How much pressure do you need?
How many cubic centimeters of air do you need?
These are the first two questions that have to be answered to build an air pump.

What's your budget?
