How big is the light( 10" ×10" @ watts?)
Curious as too the size.
It will grow algae, but how fast, is the question.

I have 20 leds@ 2 watts each. Covering a 70 square inch screen, on the single sided water fall. Gem lights.
My ufs has about the 40 watts, covering a 8"x 6" area. Two sided. Rock lights.

I use plenn plax, green bubble wand, 18" in 2 pieces. I use one section of it. It needs replaced every few months.
I just spent an hour replacing an air pump, because, I got a faulty plenn plax bubble piece. I will now always check for even flow.
The bubble wand, can be bleached at 50% ,to clean almost as good as new, or in my case better than new.
