DIY Aquarium Decor ideas?

I have a CT betta who lives in my office, on my desk. He's going to be getting an upgrade to a 5 gal (probably hex) and I want to decorate his tank to look like he has his own mini office.

I know Amazon.com has a tank with office decor, but it's too small for my betta (he's in a 1 gal ATM)

I was wondering what materials I could use to build it?

y not buy the tank off amazon rip the thin apart and use the decor in ur tank?????????????
 
simply because it's tacky. I want the decor to at least attempt to match the room it's in. Besides, I want the furniture to be a bit bigger, and include/disclude various things.

I'm picky, I know, but I enjoy being creative with my AQs
 
Good question...

I was hoping I could use bakeable modelling clay, but I'm not sure if it would need sealed, how I'd do that, and how long I would have to soak it to make sure it wouldn't mess up my fish's water.
