DIY background paint

Ok on the link above they say add color to your cement/quickrete. How do i add the color to the cement quickrete?
 
tell you what i did on mine
i bought liquid pigment at lowes
i then mixed it in 50/50 with water in a spray bottle and then just sprayed it on the wet concrete
worked perfect

1ST is a full tank shot of the foam carved how i want it with a few caves. Next pic is the bottom left corner that shows the 2 inch pvc cave and another cave carved out underneath it. the third pic show how deep the cave is underneath the pvc cave. The fourth pic is the bottom right corner with another 2 inch pvc cave and asnother one carved out underneath it. The fifth pic show the deepest cave that is set in the middle of the tank about 10-12 inches up. And the sixth pic just shows how deep it is about 6 inches. Well that s how the back ground is coming along. The finish is going to be water tight quickrete dyed black with a little bit of green shading and shadowing on the caves. Any consturctive criticism would be great.
