After surfing the web alot I finally decided to make a 3d background. Now this isnt a monster aquarium by any means but my practice background before I make for my 46 gallon. This is a 10 gallon tank that im going to learn how to tank care of live plants with, and then get some sort of shrimp and snails so that I can eventually get a green spotted puffer fish for my wife. Any comments would be really appreciated.

here is what I have so far. its all siliconed in and drying then will add water and monitor water parameters.

Welcome to MFK Ed!!!! :welcome: What materials did you use to construct the background?

I used a styrofoam cooler that I had laying around then went and got some Drylok and cement dye, and some silicone. total cost im at roughly 35 dollars and have plenty of drylok and dye for my 46 gallon background im pretty sure.

Ive had the tank up and running for a day now and no ph spike, only problem I have now is I think my heater is broke my temp is in the mid 80s and the heater is turned all the way down. May just need to get a new heater

I got the heater problem taken care of, added some plant substrate(dont remember the brand right off hand), added white sand and plants. Did a water change and messed up my sand not thinking about what would happen when I added the water so put in a decoration temporarily, and now need to fix the sand again.
