DIY bedside Paludarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The tank was bought at my lfs, it's part of a decorative aquarium line. I believe Red Sea is the company that makes it. The foam never wrapped around the eggcrate so I just pulled it off. I left it on in some areas where the foam was thin/in a fragile shape for support. The next tank I do (probably a 46 bowfront I have lying around, want to do something mid sized before leaping into something huge) will probably feature more intricate structures and a greater land/planting area.

great stuff mate i whould think that doing somthing like this on a small scale is more of a challenge to eh!!?

That looks great man! I love the way it turned out.

Just curious, did you coat the foam with anything?

First off, wicked username, loved that cartoon, used to watch it all the time after spawn and the head on MTV.

I'll have some new photos up at some point over the weekend taken with a better camera, did some replanting and stuff.

Thanks for the compliment, and no I didn't need to coat the foam with anything, I used a brand of foam made specifically for pond waterfalls that is supposed to be fish safe once cured. I haven't had any problems with it yet, so I'm pretty sure it's good to go.

Thanks man, it was a great show!

Definitely throw up some new pics, we'd all love to see them...

...and the name of that foam if you know it. I'd be interested using it myself some time.

I'm not sure of the brand of foam, but I got it from pondexperts.ca. They don't have it listed at the moment, but I'm sure if you e-mail them they could get the product for you.
