DIY/BUY lights

So, could u use these shop lights with t-8 bulbs and find ones that are 6700k+ and be good for growing most plants in a tank? I know different plants need different things, but as a general statement, yes?

The light output is very low from T8 bulbs, so you'd be limited to very low light plants (anubias, mosses, ferns, etc). But generally speaking, yes.

Yes, it is very low light. If you look at the Lighting sticky in the Planted section, you'll see that 'low' lighting with T8/T12 bulbs starts at about 4 bulbs

looked at those, but my tank is a 125 (72"), so wouldn't I need another 2' of light? And wtf is the pink light listed for?
