I saw something like this a while back but I've never thought of making one, until today in pottery club that is. This is about 14" X 10ish" and right now 6" high but I might make it taller. I plan on having the right side a heater and a small pump then the pump will push the water into the back compartment on the left and on the bottom of it and have it rise up across some filter material then waterfall back into the aquarium. Im going to make a rock wall on the back with areas to put plants in it. Tell me what you think and if you have ideas on what I should do let me know :)

Interesting idea! Hope it survives the kiln!

Should, the bottom is 1/2" thick and the walls are 1/4" thick, I plan on making the back of it with the rock wall about 1/4" thick and making it just sit on top of it or when I get it home silicone it in place.

I only get to work on it every monday after school for 2 hours. I now plan on making a MFK symbol to put on the "cliff". It should be fired in 2 weeks and glazed in 3 weeks and bringing home in 4 weeks, thats when I will silicone the glass in place.

After I build this I'm thinking of making a 2'X6"x2' aquarium and plant it.

I don't know that its strong enough to hold that much water...but you could always give it a try

also, its gonna be hard to silicone everything in place without having any holes in between the glass and the clay, even the outside part, for viewing purposes
