I paid $80 for my full pressurized co2 setup. These seem like an awful lot of time, upkeep, and mess. What is everyones reason for not just going pressurized?

pressurised is expensive. diy co2 for small tanks can work quite well

I finally did..DIY is to inconsistant, I think once you get into the larger tanks 45+ you really have to go to pressurized inorder to get the true effects of the co2. Sorry DIYers I am OUT...

big tanks yes pessure better. small tanks, nothing wrong with DIY. some hard core tanks have been done with DIY. a guy here had a sweet iwagumi tank made with DIY co2

Expensive? $80 for my setup and I've seen them go cheaper. And fill it at most once every six months for a few bucks. I don't have to mess with it at all. I can run multiple tanks off it.
Let's say you spend an hour a week on your DIY co2... One hour a week over six months adds up to 24 hours. If you worked a minimum wage job for less than half of those 24 hours, you'd have a full pressurized co2 system paid for.
So where's the logic, seriously?

its not hard to understand dude. and ur condisending town is uncalled for.

DIY is effective for small tanks and cheap. 80 bucks is great, but some people have a family and other stuff to pay for so i as well as many others dont have, or dont want to spend 80 bucks on it.
