Ha. Yeah. I ended up switching the set-up when I tried to get the automatic water changer going.

I split the flows from the return pump so that it returned to the tank and fed the denitrator.

Do you still have a denitrator going now? Do you recommend them? Im thinking about setting one up.

I'd recommend it if you have a big bioload. I built it because I had my 90 gal stuffed with fish and water changes were becoming a pita and I wasn't making enough headway against Nitrate creep. So far on the 180 gal with less bioload than in the 90 over more than double the gal I'm not so sure it's necessary. I have it running, but I still do big, weekly water changes.
