Looks cool, hope it works out, on craigslist I saw hex tanks that had two pipes such as this connecting them, i thought it was neat.

Also that aqua bridge is pretty sweet, I wonder how much they go for and how effective they are, like will the fish think to use them, possibly over time, if they were cheap id be tempted to try it. fish do get curious, I figure smaller fish would like them better, most big fish woul probably be closterphobic, although big bass chill in shallow waters, idk?

ya they are pretty cool but I would be afraid of the pipes losing suction and water going everywhere.

Doesnt look like they hold too much water, if you connected two 55s you should be alright, but you are right it could be bad on smaller tanks if it were to lose suction.

Interesting build. I'll be keeping an eye on how this works out for you as i've been thinking of doing something similar but with a spare pair of hex tanks. The cut vases is genius! Is the vase glass thick enough for the water pressure at the bottom of those tanks? how do they compare to the thicknes of the 10g tanks?

they should be fine. Their isnt going to be alot of pressure cause its not alot og water. but the tanks sides are about 1/8 inch and the vase's are 1/16 inch

that is neat. and also expensive lookin!

no unfortunately I have been really busy with school and work but I just dropped off the vase's at the glass shop to cut them. they said that they should be done by Tuesday morning. So if all goes well and they can cut them successfully I will post pics of those and then drop the tanks off to get drilled
