Just make sure if one uses another brand that it doesn't have a built in mildewcide/fungicide as some do. Corian is very expensive and ranks right up there with acrylic. I used Corian as an overlay over 2" plywood (2 x 1") on the bottom of a 10' x 30" x 30" 100 year old plus antique aquarium. It worked great. Silicone sticks to it great too!

That look cool! I like to see people thinking outside of the box. It gives me ideas for my future monster tank.

Wouldn't that be bad for you if you used it as a counter top? I wouldn't want my food made on top of something that had a mildewcide/fungicide on it?

Probably no worse than if you clean your counter top with Lysol! LOL!
 
I work next to a place that services and sells salt water aquariums and they have an old Corian tank in their showroom. He use to build custom acrylic aquariums, but now just builds sumps and tree boa enclosures.
