diy driftwood from the lake

Cool thanks and im almost sure because the sea salt (natural salt) in the store dont have iodine in it and I've read some where on the web that any salt is safe as long as there is no iodine. Next weekend i plan on going to chalmette and getting some stumps for my future 125.

In the past when I've collected driftwood I usually clean it with the water-blaster, soak it in a big pool/bin/tub for a couple of months (less if I've collected it from fresh water instead of the beach), scrub and clean it again while checking for rotting bits, rinse with boiling water then add to the tank.

I kindve have an idea of what im thinking of doing washing it off till clean or mostly clean then throw it in some boilng water for a few hours with some salt

Here is what I did with mine. I bought it from a previous owner who had a 30-40lb driftwood in his tank

I soak it in bleach twice 8 hours at a time with the hottest water in my shower.

I scrub it with a big brush while it was soaking. Then I took it to a car wash and blasted it with water for 10min.
Here is the result
