Ok, I got another 135 awhile back. The difference in this one is it was free and the tank is 3'x2'x3' Im thinking about selling it though... but for now, I need a filter. It came with one, and things where going good untill I put my two catfish in there. So Im looking to make a filter for it. Does anyone have a good idea of what I should try to make? Or something that someone has already done that would be good for it? Thanks

Both.

There are a lot of W/D filter projects here, what's your skill level? (ie could you hurt yourself with a picture of a screwdriver or do you own you own power tools ;)).

How big of a bio-load is it going to have?

How much space is available?

Does it have to be pretty or just functional?

Where 'bouts in FLA?

Lol there are a lot of power tools here. Also my grandpa does a lot, like building his own stuff. So Ive I ever needed something he would have it.

I have a lot of room that can be used, and it doesn't have to be pretty. Just work good, and filter it. Its going to have a smaller rtc and tsn, along with 2 common plecos.

And I'm in Pensacola Fl

Well from your stock list, it's going to be messy AND have a sizeable bio-load, so I'd go with a W/D with a very capable mechanical prefilter, like large filter bags from mcmaster on the inlet. Something like a fluidized bed won't deal with the mechanical debris well enough, and something like an HOB probably will struggle with the bioload.

Ok... I think I have a problem... most of these the water naturally flows from the tank down right? Well how am I suppose to get the water from my tank in there? Will I have to use a pump to get it in? The tank has a sticker in the bottom that says DO NOT DRILL.... lol
