Anybody else try using an old tore up net and use it as a fikter sock holder?.....i take it the blue coating will prevent rusting

Cool idea! I have the same thing in a bucket for syphoning out uneaten food. But not to hold the sock, just the bent part of the net.

I tested it out with clogged filter socks to see if the wiring on the old net would withold without bending due to the water weight from them being clogged just in case i wasnt able to switch them out in time and it holds up pretty well didnt bend at all!
Originally i was going to rig something up with some extra egg crate i have but this seems sturdier
and the most important part is you have a sock handle!!!! The fabric on mine always tear so a handle is a big time improvement.
