General rule around here is ... don't talk about it unless you post a pic ;) otherwise I'd be saying I have a 12' RTC living in my 45' X 45' basement tank which is built out of papermache LOL :j/k:

Hey I have one of those too!! J/K
Pics on the way..

In this pic you can see the bio tower, 3.5" black pipe filled with bioballs on the far left, 1.5" pipe with valve is the pump output. The first canister is a micron filter, then the FBF that returns to bio tower. The small white line is for the drip system

Here we go some more:D (original http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114818 For those that missed it)

I decided that I'm not going to use sand in the recirculation filter, but I'll use ceramic media instead. I'm afraid of the sand overflowing and getting into pump. I think I'll be ok with ceramic.

Here is the tube I used. it was one of those light changing bubble tubes. It has been laying around since college.

Here it is in operation (minus media). I'll be getting an adjustable PVC repair pipe so I can adjust the depth of the PVC into the acrylic tube. Right now I'm just checking flow/function.

Talk about an easy upgrade  (hope you cleaned off the residue off the hooka, I mean pipe, I mean plastic tube ;)).

Would love to know if you can read a difference with a test kit, I know it will make a difference.

And as the water exits the top of the tube you made that much more surface area for gas exchange.

How about sticking an air tube (no air pump) into the down tube to suck air in and aerate the media, it should be getting exhausted by this point.

Why does everyone complain about carpet...

I will be using 100% plastic outdoor carpet in my fishroom......

I may have missed it in a previous thread, but how many gph are you getting from that pump? Also how many tanks(and what sizes) is that pump feeding...

It's a Sequence Dart 3600gph pump. I don't know what the actual numbers are, I haven't taken the time to measure it. Right now it's filtering a 125 and a 300, but I'm planning to switching the 125 to a 220 in the near future.

great beer to have sitting there too!

That filter should be a beast then...you can guestimate you are getting around 3000 gph to filter 500 gallons.... 6 times turnover
