DIY Filtration....?

I have a 55 gallon tank that I am selling, but I'm sitting here thinking about possibly turning it into my filtration. Is there a way to turn this 55 into a sump or something of that nature without having to drill? I don't know that it'd necessarily be financially beneficial for me, but figured I'd check it out while I still have the extra tank here....what do ya think?

You don't have to drill your tank at all if it is going to be the sump.

If I were to have the 55 as a sump along with 2 HOB..would that be sufficient enough to be considered "good" filtration?

Depends on what the 55 is going to be a sump for. What size tank are you going to be running it with?

It'll be for a 150 (I know nothing of sumps...as you can see )

Just the 55 would be large enough for a tank that size. You can add other filters for mech filtration, but it isn't necessary.

I used a 55 for a sump on my 300. It's the only filtration and is doing great. For bio media I used a combination of lava rock, pot scrubbers, and floor scrubbers.

I need a 55 for my sump and do you think I can find a good used one around here ?
