I have a fish trap designed and I plan to build after I get your oppinions and suggestions. Its 6"T x 12"D x 18"W. I also thought about making one twice the size for small catfish, sturgeon and other bottom dwellers. What would I use to frame it with, 1/2" pvc, 1/4" steel rods?

i think the pvc will hold the air in then causing it to float
Thats what I thought, but I can drill holes along the pvc so it will sink.

You should make it a cylinder then you could use plastic netting from lowes or something find one that is stiff but you can strech and create a cone funnel at the end of the funnel attach elastic this way the fish won't bang or scratch it's self up when trying to squeez in.
