DIY FOAM BACKGROUND

I think I will try this on a smaller tank first. I guess I thought stuff like this would be poisen to the fish.

anyway, you cut in the pattern and then seal the foam with the resin?...backside too?

no i think thats right i wasn't sure if it would poisonous or not so i went through the internet and read about alot of people doind this and it worked out for them

ya i wasn't going to worry about the back except were i'm going to have the inlets to my overflow i've alot of people not sealind the backs because they just silicone it to the glass since styrofoam is real boyant

Ok that was my next question. Do you think a dremel or roto-zip would help on the carving? Man I've got so many ideas running through my head. And I have to work in the morning!

i wouldn't really think so that white foam carves pretty easy with a knife.

Ok, I'm thinking maybe a wider foam...bigger rocks and caves...Man this is cool, I'm glad I found this thread..Thanks FierceMonkey, I'll be keeping an Eye on this, maybe someone will show some of their art work. I want to see more pics of yours as you go along. Keep us posted.
