Ummmm for the airline situation.... i would say use plant life.... fake or real.... either or don't matter. As the others have asked.... do you have a filter?

id say go with a tall plant......and id go real because it acts like its own filter

and plants with sucton cups are hard to find but you can atach your own suction cups( found at loonie, craft and hardware stores) and atach them to the fake plants with fishing line...its perfectly safe..prob have to find small suction cups because your tank / vase is round:headbang2
rad idea for a lack of space situation

you kill more than two birds with one stone if you go live plant:headbang2

go for the fake plant airstone from petsmart. it kinda looks like a long strand of java moss so it works for me. least work involved.if you want to use live plants to benefit from them as mentioned, i took air line and wrapped java moss around it and then tied it on with fishing line every inch and a half or so. it looks pretty cool and great cover but much harder than opening a package and dropping it in the tank.

I've used the uptoobs from UGF for airlines. The rigid plastic is much better
than the flacid 1/4" air line tubing IMHO. Doesn't take much in fish or forground
plants to draw your attention away from it after that.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I like the java moss idea and going to give that a try. Will be back with new setup.
