since you have a two bulb fixture and it came with "daylight" bulbs, chances are that they are 6500k. Now these bulbs alone are great for growing plants but I find the light that they put off to be a little harsh colorwise. See if you can find a 5500k bulb, these are just as good for planted tanks but are not as harsh on the eyes, and will enhance the look of your tank as well.
I like the way it looks for now.Might look into another bulb at some point.I want to see how the plants do with the stock bulbs.
I just went the other way.
Pulled out my T5 and replaced it with a T8.
Just no selection of T5 bulbs, other than online/mail order.
T8 bulbs in different “K” ratings are available locally and rather inexpensive.
Love the size of the T5 unit though.

Looks good over the tank, I'm gonna have to give this a go on a burnt out hood light I don't use anymore. Thanks for the idea.
