I was thinking of trying to save a little and use my di canister as a media reactor. It is setup for 1/4 " tubing. I was hoping i could put a "T" on my return pump and down size to the 1/4 " tubing for the feed line to it. My RO manufacturer says the canister will handle up to 80 psi.

Anyone have any thoughts as to way this would not work are any ideas on how to do it different.

Thank you

The only problem I see is 1/4" line is restrictive unless you are using it on a small tank under 100 gallons I don't think it's going to flow enough.

Sure the unit can hold great pressure but your return pump chances are isn't good for much beyond 5psi and at that point the water will follow the path of least restriction.

Check out the Bulk Reef Supply carbon reactor. It's cheap setup with larger fittings. I have mine running off a power head independently in my sump.
