I'm about to fill her up! As you can see I have my DIY overflows. Im running dual 2"

As you can see I don't have the piping going as far down as recommended, thus decreasing the flow. I figured 2/3 down would suffice plus I didn't want anymore 2" piping than I needed.

So now I ask, with the obvious DIY and shorter pipes, what can I expect GPH wise?

Thanks in advance

P.S. before someone asks, I just don't feel like drilling holes this large into glass.

I am running dual 1 1/2" overflows and shorter in length like yous on my 220 G tank. They both T into 2" going to the sump. I put a 1 gallon bucket in front of the outlet and did a seconds count to see how much... It came out around 900 GPH. It's hard to tell exactly how much yours will flow using two shorter dual 2", but it will be more than 900 GPH. I am using the pump Pondmaster model 24 rated at 2400gph @ zero head. At 5 feet it's rated @ 1630 gph .

If I'm getting around 900 with dual 1 1/2" T ing to 2" and you have two 2" returns. In my opinion you should get close to 1800 GPH or maybe more with both 2" overflows together.

Im running about 2500gph through dual 1 1/2 drains(Herbies) t'd to a 2" line and 2" gate but my gate is about 90% closed. through my system I could easily handle 3500 gph, but keep in mind the Herbies run at full siphon(no air). Kind of had to tell with your setup, but will there be any air pulled into the lines? That will have a big impact on your drain abilities.

My drains are detailed in my sig (300 gallon) on page 3 I believe.

spiffy: I'm not sure. I would like to know as well. I just went with what all the DIY said to do

Amazon: the bass are going in here. I had to sell the 600 due to the wide footprint. this tank should work for the next 2 years

im just wondering cause i drew up a drawing on how i want to change my overflow setup from a box to pipe style, but mine is a little unusual and full siphon. i also didnt know the depth in the tank affected the flow rate.
