diy overflow/ sump Q's

nope i can read it, so a 1 inch pipe runs about 200 gph or is that a good enough gph if the 1 inch is more then 200 wat size would run 200(is there like a formula?)

Sorry I missed the first post
I have had 500gph flowing through a 1" DIY PVC overflow, but I suggested 200gph because IMO that's about all you'll need with a wet/dry on a 55g tank.


Some say you need more, but I think over filtration is simply a waste of power, especially when dealing with wet/dry filters.

Well, if you're talking about the overflow 1" will be fine.
If you're making a DIY overflow like the one in the sticky here, it will only flow as much as the pump will return.
