it shows the plans about half way down.

im planning on making this for my 10g nano(yes it has a sump lol) but im wondering what size pvc would be appropriate im thinking 1 1/4 inch? also what size return pump would i need i have a spair 850gph pump im not using but that seems a little much, im thinking if i could but a ball valve on it to restrict the flow a little bit and dial it it would that be ok? or would it be too much strain on the pump itself

you can use a regular pvc overflow like the one in that thread. you definitely dont need 1 1/4" tubing and a 850gph pump.

with a SW tank, youre gonna be looking for at least 10x turnover. that still only requires a 100gph pump. (probably closer to 200gph depending on how tall your stand is).
you can always go with a higher flow rate if you dont plan on adding a powerhead, but 85x turnover is a bit much for a 10g tank.

the tank is about 2 feet off the ground, and if you read the whole system is 20-25g so id need about a 200gph pump right? and what's the appropriate sizing of pvc for it?
