wow thanks guys this really helps. Now I understand how they work better, i hope! This summer I am defenitly making one, cause I dont want to drill into my tank! Just two questions though...

What is that black thing on the top elbo of rallysman's overflow? Do I need it?

What Is an ornate? In case you didnt notice I'm still in the learning stage. I want to to a total diy tank for a ray this summer

The black thing is a check valve,you need it to remove the air to start the overflow,
The ornate is a fish
