DIY Pine Stand Build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no bud the mdf carcass is exactly the same size as the tank and has an 18mm back screwed on then where the middle 2 dividers are had a piece screwed underneath them so there are 4 points that hit the floor (if you look at my iroko stand build its is built the same way) when i added the pine frame to the tank and base they are exactly the same width i did not want them to look different

Yeah, I hear you. So the pine face frames you made are just it's skin.

I build my stands like would make a cabinets too. You'd be surprised how much weight these cabinet stands can hold. Everyone uses 2x4 construction. It's way overkill. Imo.

i agree bud why everyone seems to build stand with 2x4 amazes me but each to their own i suppose.....my current hardwood stand is built the same way but with only 18mm mdf on the top as it was cheaper than hardwood.........this time it will have 4x4 turned posts on the stand corners as well as the 22mm iroko and also turned posts on the tank surround which i will quarter sawn cut so its a nice snug fir
