You're joking about feeding your reds mice right?

Based on the things that joe's going to recommend, he's probably going to say the grocery store. lol. My guess is he'll say fillet talipia, shrimp, pellets (they make mini pellets), bloodworm, silversides etc etc.

At that size, as far as food from the pet store you're probably only buying bloodworm or krill cubes which typically aren't any more then a buck difference from pet store to pet store.

Haha, I probably won't feed them mice or any goldfish. I want these reds to last a while.

Hey Joe, noticed you also live in Minneapolis. Where would be a good place to get fish food for juvenile RBPs? Haven't really looked too much at A World of Fish or Aquatropics for food, mainly pricing out 1"-2" reds...also, Forest Lake Petstore is amazing when it comes to competitive prices (FX5 for $100)
as far as food, ballin nailed it right on the head... go to the grocery store. you will end up paying way more for "fish food" at the lfs as opposed to buying food for your fish at the grocery store, just make sure that you check the ingredients list on packaged foods.

if you really want to get into the piranha hobby, go make friends with john, rob, and jeremy over at sea level in hopkins... john is the owner and always has the best stock of piranhas around, most other places only stock natts and occasionally a couple others. their prices are pretty competitive with other places, but if you become a regular, they will hook you up.

world of fish is a pretty cool store too, great selection of plants. aquatropics is ridiculously overpriced and the owner acts like he is doing you a favor by letting you shop at his store, so its not a very good customer service experience.

Went to Sea Level today, man they have a pretty nice selection of piranhas there. My gf's favorite was the 15yr old Black Rhom. Talked to a few of the guys there and they seemed pretty nice. They don't sell anything related to Fluval which kinda bummed me out, but I am definitely going to them for my plants and food.

Edit: I told the manager there that you refered me to them, he seemed pleased.

they are awesome guys... i actually just talked to john on the phone yesterday, i sent him some pygos that he got yesterday and he's trying to track down some plants for me. i moved up near detroit lakes last year but i still try to work with them whenever i can. i even send my mom in there to grab stuff before she comes up to visit, haha.

i know i can order most stuff online and save a ton of money, but i really like supporting local stores, especially when you can get customer service like that. i'm gonna have to get down there soon, john told me they are breeding natts at the store and working on that 2000 gallon tank for them.

Yeah, they set up a 2200 gallon "tiki" pond with a waterfall...it is leaking though so they have to reseal it. The 15 or so reds they have breeding in the 200g are HUGE!

they used to keep koi in there but about a year and a half ago, the guy that owns the store next door came over and told john that there was water on the floor next to the wall that they share. it sat empty for a long time, i'm glad to see that they are finally doing something with it.

you just made me squirt french roast and bailey's through my nostrils!

LOL...I can't help it. To me there are few things simpler than using correct capitalization. I mean, I can regretfully overlook lack of punctuation, U instead of you [The epitome of laziness.] but typing in all caps and the incorrect spelling of an incorrect word as simple as greatfish, whatever the hell that means just grates my nerves more than anything....
