DIY plywood indoor ponds?

Thanks everyone...I ran my idea by my mom and she went nuts. She's all "you've never built anything out of wood so you don't know how everything has to fit together or else it will leak" etc etc and something about the cost of plexiglass and how much of a pain it would be to insert it so it won't break or leak and how I don't have the equipment and I don't know how to do it. She doesn't care that I've got fish that are going to get big though. So at least that's cool.
...and I wasn't going to have any plexiglass in it anyway; it would just be a pain and I want to see the fish from above anyway.

So I scrapped my original idea (plywood inside sealed w/epoxy). My mom said "why don't you just a big stock tank like we got for Fluffy (my snapping turtle)?" and I thought I would so I looked them up and they don't come in rectangles and they're all highly unattractive and too deep. Now I'm back here and the idea for the 2" wood shell lined with plywood, insulation, and a liner sounds really good and it sounds like something that could end up being a semi-nice piece of furniture.

I said something to my mom about dropping a pond liner in it because what she was worried about she said was that I wouldn't cut the plywood right and it would leak all over the place. She went nuts again.

*sighs* I'll have to work on her for a while.

You named a snapping turtle 'FLUFFY' :OMG: :banhim: ....... :j/k:

Did you see Stotty's post #7?

Look harder, farm suppy, industrial supply, janitorial supply.

If I find a good one first I'll post it.
