i had an old dresser that i was gonna chuck but at the last minute i had an idea.

i removed the draws and the guide system and used some left over hardwood floor i had. i think it will make a great beardie tank after i add some sand.

i still gotta get a peice of acyrlic that will slid down the edges in a notch of the wood.

what do you guys think?

thanks guys. yea that was the best thing about it is that it didnt cost me anything besides for the acyrlic that i still gotta get.

the dimensions are 60" l x 18" w. and not that it matters to much but a height of 24".

i was thinking of adding supports to everything to make it into a tank stand for my 55. man i would love that. but i money got alot tighter recently so ill have to finish it over the summer.

The only thing to watch out for is the humidity eventually it will cause the wood to separate.

thanks. i have everything nailed down pretty well. i learned how to lay hardwood floor pretty well since i did my whole upstares, i forget how many square feet it was but way more then enough to get a good handle on how to do it.

thats awesome. That 24 inches high can allow for some nice tall climbing braches/ driftwood. But thats bigger than a 75 gal tank which would be great for a bearded IMO.

neways good job once again

Excellent idea...and you were gonna throw it away

what would the best way to add supports to it? im guessing around each corner and some how one in the middle? i know i need a support some where in the middle unless i take off the top of the dresser and get better wood for it. if i support the middle though it will get in the way of my beardie tank as these guys need some room. i think im gonna have to take off the top unless you guys have a better idea?

Do you mean so that it can support a tank on top??

I post some pics of my Boa enclosure, it should give you some good ideas on how to finish up your project.

BTW, you absolutely will have to coat the entire inside with some polyurathane to stop wood rot, mildew, ect. ;)
