Just remember to make more than one! I made just one that worked perfectly and after two weeks the flow simply decreased and if I hadn't been there when it happened I would have probably ended up with about 5 gallons of water on the floor, which doesn't sound like much, but when its on the floor...

I bought the molding. It was about $7.95 per 8 foot stick and I needed 6 sticks total (stand and canopy)

Someone could build the same stand for considerably less if they were going to paint it. You could skin it with sanded pine ply or even MDF and get mdf paintable molding. Doing that could knock an easy $40 off of the project.
