The wifes been bugging me to get this done. But before I dive in I was wondering if anyone can share what they've done and give me some direction.

I was planning on using some 1/2 to 1 inch furniture grade plywood. And using magnets to hold the skin up but also allow easy access to get into the sump. Then spruce it up with some moldings/trimmings and a stain

20180127_072503.jpgI used molybdenum 1" with a countersunk screw hole. 2 will hold a 18" x 30 " 3/4" oak board.

If your going with a sheet metal skin, The small 1/4" diameter magnets, would work, with less weight.

Sounds like a good plan the plywood and magnets.

The idea of magnets and a skin facade on front is basically what I did as well on my twin 120's. One stand is metal and the others is wood 2x4 I built. Only thing I did different was I used industrial Velcro because my wood skin is thinner 1/4" cabinet grade wood since I wanted it to be nice and light and easy to remove to access the filters and QT tank under them.

I was considering velcro too. Any issues with it sticking to the wood long term ?
