Thanks....I think that I am going to copy the 220 stand that someone posted on here earlier (at least for the framing). I think that he used all 2x4's.
 
you can use 2x4 without a problem. I saw someone use 4x4 and that to me is over kill... of course it never hurts to go a little over the top to ensure that you are going to have a solid stand. it will just increase the cost and the total weight of the tank/stand/canopy. looks good though can't wait to see the pics of the 220

Thanks. It was a lot easier to do than I thought it was going to be. I would like to do it for a couple more of my tanks, too.

I'm actually going to be putting the big stand on hold for right now...I am designing and building some floor to ceiling book shelves for the wife...then I get to build my stand. Just for the wood on the books shelves it's going to be $325 :WHOA:

I will hopefully be posting pics of the book shelves soon.
