Ya know I did not really look for the best grain pattern I just took the first piece the was there. I just started working on the canopy and I'm going to use the same design to build it. The tank has been running since end of Feb. and my Sysn is looking good in there. His only issue is the fin he lost when I had him in with 2 mean ass red jewels. I thought that would grow back but it seems to be taking a long time. I also added 8 Giant Danios to help cycle the tank. I used sand colored quartz as the substrate and I think it looks much better then gravel. I admit Its not done so I haven't posted pictures of it recently. I still need a piece of driftwood and I have to put the black back round up.
I'll look into birch for the next build.......I'm hoping to get 125 or something close. did you use birch on your build.
i did mine cheap the birch was almost $50 a sheet so i went with ac grade plywood and painted it black
i didnt post anything on it yet wanted to wait till i was done
