You couldn't have picked two better "assistants".
Thanks for the compliment LowCel :):):)

Here is the final product guys, besides some door knobs. I was about to do the veneer and cover up the edges, but at this point, i didn't wanna go thru the hassle and then staining the edge as well. So i simply stained the edges and looks good to me. I will be putting the tank on this stand as soon as the polyurthane has dried. I will continue with final pictures when tank is settled! what you guys think...

Looks awesome!!!! Very good job on both the stand and the canopy!

Pictures don't do justice, it's more of a cherry dark color, not an pealing orange. The flash makes it seem lighter than expected.

As far as the canopy progress, there wasn't progress needed to be done really. I attached the two sides with the front panel. The rear is left open for venting purposes. I then inserted a small block of 2x4 on each corner of the canopy. The top panel is cut in half, then attached both halves by a piano hinge, then screwed one of the pieces and left the lid unscrewed, so i can open/close it. The lid sits on a screw really, and it holds well.

So how are you lights attached to the canopy or tank?? (need to know for when I build my tank and canopy).

The lights just sit on the lids as if it had no canopy. I have the two glass lids, followed by the light fixture on top of them, then the canopy that hides all of it..
