I've decided to try something quick and easy to use as a stand for my 300G (72x56)... Basically using cinder blocks and plywood. What do you guys think?

sorry to jump on your thread, it kinda related. I was thinking of doing the same with a 5' x 2' glass but complete side an rear with no gaps with ply shelf, I wanted the front open. Do you guys think it would work or do I really need the front supported.

Thanks for any help given

Are you wanting to use the space under the tank?

I'm a little concerned about not bracing the entire bottom with acrylic, unless your using 1" plywood on bottom.

Make a frame of doubled 2x4's on edge with a 3/4" plywood top, that will support the front.

If you look closely at the layout i'm using a sheet of 3/4" plywood on the bottom in between the blocks and the tank. But you think I should go with 1"?

my question is, what is under the floor for support? Then, is that tank like an all glass?, that is does the outer rim actually support the entire weight? It looks like the bottom is flat.
