Yes if you want your bio balls to be wet dry that needs to be lower because the water before the pump is going to level out so if that part is above the bio balls the water will also be

Is that the only problem with the sump now ? Everything else is fine ? I might be putting biohome or biomax in the middle section

Youve definitely got the right idea.

Baffles are kind of unnecessary.

I just made a simple mesh box out of needlepoint plastic for my fry grow out.

Bioballs and a wet dry filter are great. Make sure your water is mechanically filtered before your bioballs. Keep your bioballs clean or they can be a source of nitrates.

yes correct.. if allowable stack the bio home up right to suspend the egg create that holds to bio balls.. if needs to be suspended higher get 2" PVCs and stick the bio home into pvc but notch one end of PVC so there is a gap so water can flow through the pvc where bio home is inside...
