just follow the diagram in the sticky, and you will be fine.

so it has to be at the bottom of the tank .. what about the E that is on top of the tank .. could that be a T that i could cap and put a aqua lifter on it? could the E on the outside of the tank on the bottom be a T that drops right to the sump or do i need to have the 180 then on the air pipe have the T?

Build it with your mods and let us know how it turns out. I know others have tried to mode it and it hasn't worked yet, but hey maybe you know a better mouse trap.

well thats why i was asking about it .. i wanted to know if anyone had tried one or all of what i am talking about and had it fail or work .. the one big difference that i want is for the inlet .. i would like to have it at a 90* or 45* rather then flat ... would like to know if that works .. also rather then just tapping a hose into the top for sucking the air out .. if a T with a cap and a aqua lifter would work just the same .. other then that i will probably do everything else just like the sticky and photo that i posted ..

I can tell you a 90 doesn't work. I tried it on mine and it broke the siphon. The check valve is the easiest for the top because in all reality it won't get used but for the initial start-up. If everything else is done correctly any other time it will auto restart.

if you want to go cheaper here you go [YT]<object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FkT9EiY9v60&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FkT9EiY9v60&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="445" height="364"></embed></object>[/YT]

ehh alright .. i figured you would have an idea .. but i will have to go back and look at the guys who tried it the way i am thinking and see if there still active ..

I checked out 74 pages of chompers information last night from 11pm till 1:30am .. and i now know a lot more about these things .. and the reason why the T at the bottom for the drain will not work .. which is much better then just saying no .. i wanted to know why not .. which is why i asked .. but since people here only say NO !!!! i had to spend 2 1/2 hrs reading what all of you seem to already know .. but are not capable of sharing ..

so thanks to chompers i have a plan to build it ... i would share what i do .. and how i do it .. and list works and did not work for the modifications that i make .. but since people cannot share the information that they get around here .. you can build your own damn overflow and figure it out on your own ..

to the nice people who would like to know .. your more then welcome to PM me and i will show you what and how i work it out ..

to the rest .. FOLLOW THE DAMN DIAGRAM!!!!

got it up and going .. running great .. not much noise .. but going to try some of the tricks to get it nice and quiet .. also fit in 2 of my modifications and they both work perfect... there is only one problem with the pump .. but im not sure its even a problem yet .. will see after i have it hooked up to a spray bar and not just some hose hanging in the tank ...

i would like to thank Chompers and Pharaoh and the sticky and Laosy Fish for his help with the modifications ..
