Why not post a picture of what you have so we don't have to keep guessing. I would love to help but it is counter productive to take the time to post only to find out that complete information was not given in the first place.

One other thing...for every hundred or so people asking for advice on dream sized tanks, only one or two actually has the tank or the resources to get one. Post a pic and more people will be willing to take the time to help.

Amen...

Here is the picture of my 250. 8 feet long, 2.5 high and 1.5 wide. It has f drains on the bottom, 3 you can see with valves and another is plugged offset to the back. Then on the other picture u can see the 4 drains at the top back, 2 large 2 small. I think ive decided since i have so many drains/return wholes in the tank and its so slim, that im going to setup the wet/dry filter to the side of it. Just run tubing or pvc to a filter setup right next to it so i dont have to worry about space and altering stand.

Tokay, I wish I was there to see it in person and able to see where you want to put it. I have an idea that you may want to try. It will take just over three inches of space under your tank. I did something like this for my tank. Inch and a half bio-balls will fit inside inch and a half pvc pipe. Bio-balls also will never need cleaning; just provide minimal mechanical filtration before the sump. The sump will be a series of pvc pipes filled with bioballs. You can fit 360 bio-balls under your tank in one layer, or 720 balls in two layers. Two layers will take about five or six inches of space.

Look at this; see post #4 & #7 http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36298
